Response Marine-

Fire/Rescue Boats- Overview

Designed for the Mission  -  Built for the Mission  -  Known for the Quality

Since 1989, Response Marine has specialized in the design and construction of welded aluminum fire/rescue boats ranging from 15 to 40 feet.  All of these boats are customized to suit the individual mission requirements, and the larger boats are primarily custom efforts with the hulls, arrangements and outfitting developed specifically for each customer.  For construction services we partner with Viking Welding in Seabrook, NH, and we also provide design, specification and support services for a variety of builders, agencies and individuals.

The Designs:
Our emphasis has always been on listening to and learning from each customer in order to develop and deliver the boat which best meets the mission.  In our formula the mission defines the boat, and we do not compromise mission performance by pushing standard models.  While other companies will modify equipment outfitting to suit, we routinely customize entire boats- including hull shapes- in order to ensure appropriate performance and function.

For applications where an inflatable boat is desirable we now also offer the SeaWolf Survivor line of rescue catamarans.  SeaWolf is a pre-eminent manufacturer that shares our philosophies of quality and performance, and their Survivor line of rescue boats (10-28') is an excellent complement to our line.

The Material:
Our hulls are built of welded, marine grade  aluminum (5086, 5083 ASTM B928 alloys) .  Welded aluminum has become the clear choice for most professional boats under 50' as well as larger fast ferries and yachts.  This is evidenced by the popularity of aluminum among the US Coast Guard and most municipal fleets.  The benefits are clear:

¤      Marine Grade aluminum  will not corrode in salt or fresh water.

¤      3 times the impact/rupture resistance of steel. (Under impacts where steel will rupture, aluminum will deform farther but not rupture.)
